If you’ve ever purchased an after-market analog modem, chances are pretty good that you either considered or took home a U.S. Robotics modem, maybe even a Sportster. These days, scanning through the modem shelf at your local computer store, you’re apt to see USR modems labeled "X2" and "56K". These are analog modems which employ a USR-specified algorithm to obtain download speeds of up to 53Kbps. However, this technology is neither as mature nor as ubiquitous as ISDN, and it should come as no surprise that USR also offers an ISDN flavor of Sportster: the Sportster ISDN 128K.
