Should you ever need assistance, Diamond Multimedia’s AutoISDN application provides both connection monitoring and problem diagnosis capabilities. In our opinion, AutoISDN is an extremely user-friendly interface, particularly well-suited for home use. The Connection Status panel provides a real-time ISDN line/channel monitor, with easy-to-understand error messages and on-line hypertext help. The Connection Log panel records call number, time, duration, direction, and destination.
Use the Diagnostics panel to verify that your card is physically installed and connected properly, to test the analog phone port, or to enable/disable, view, print, and clear the log file. While the connection monitor visually illustrates call progress, you’ll need the log file to diagnose any problems with your ISDN connection. AutoISDN can help you with problems at the ISDN level, but you’re on your own for problems that may occur after your call has been connected, such as invalid authentication username or password.
