A Core Competence Product Evaluation
3Com SuperStack II Port Switch Hub 40
This product evaluation was conducted
using a 3Com SuperStack Port Switch Hub Model 40,
a managed Ethernet repeater with Port Switching capabilities,
and a SuperStack II Switch 1000 provided by 3Com product marketing.
The SuperStack II Switch 1000 ran Software Agent 2.10.
The Port Switch comes with a Transcend Quick
Configuration Manager for Windows-based PCs.
For our evaluation, we attached between four and six end
stations to the Port Switch Hub,
and connected multiple shared segments of these hubs
to a SuperStack II
Switch 1000 using 10 Mbps uplinks.
